Titans QB Malik Willis Returns as TransPerfect Music City Bowl’s Youth Football Ambassador

Program Has Distributed Over 150,000 Mouthguards in 20 Years

October 2, 2023

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The TransPerfect Music City Bowl is thrilled to announce the return of Tennessee Titans quarterback and 2018 bowl alum, Malik Willis, for his second year as Youth Football Ambassador, bowl representatives announced on Monday.

This exciting initiative continues to impact young athletes and promote youth football across Tennessee, building on the successful partnerships that have assisted over 20 leagues since its inception in 2003.

"I couldn't be more excited to return as the TransPerfect Music City Bowl's Youth Football Ambassador,” Willis said. “Being a part of this initiative to inspire and mentor young athletes is a privilege, and I can't wait to continue making a positive impact in our community."

Scott Ramsey, President/CEO of the TransPerfect Music City Bowl, expressed his gratitude for Willis returning as ambassador.

"Having Malik return as our Youth Football Ambassador is a testament to his dedication to youth development across our region,” Ramsey said. “Malik's passion for guiding young athletes aligns perfectly with our Youth Football Program’s mission, and we are thrilled to welcome him back this season.”

The impact of this partnership extends beyond Willis's involvement as ambassador, as local youth leagues will receive substantial support throughout the year. These leagues will benefit from generous donations to help purchase or repair equipment, acquire uniforms, maintain facilities, pay for game officials, and implement new league programs. In addition to monetary contributions, each league will receive an official bowl helmet sticker, complimentary tickets for coaches and players of the league's championship-winning teams, and mouthguards provided by the longtime supporter Delta Dental of Tennessee. Over two decades, the program has distributed over 150,000 mouthguards across local youth leagues.

“Today’s youth need positive role models like Malik,” said Jeff Ballard, Delta Dental President and Music City Bowl Board Member. “We’ve been proud to sponsor the Youth Football Program and having a Youth Football Ambassador enriches this program. I think it’s wonderful that Malik, who played in the bowl, is wanting to give back to our community.”

Willis, who is currently in his second season with the Titans, was drafted with the 86th pick in the 3rd Round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Liberty University. He led the FBS in touchdowns (47 passing, 27 rushing) during his two years with the Flames, guiding Liberty to two bowl victories. Prior to his time at Liberty, Willis spent his first two seasons at Auburn, where he notably appeared in the 2018 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, contributing to Auburn's 63-14 victory over Purdue.
