We would like to welcome back all of our member leagues from last year and look forward to a great 2009 football season!

The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl is more than a gridiron clash of the ACC and the SEC. It's more than Nashville Holiday's Tradition. It's one of the area's largest outreach programs for kids with dreams that are larger than life and a way to positively impact young people throughout this region -- courtesy of the Bowl's Youth Football Program (YFP).

The Bowl's community outreach program continues its mission to positively impact regional youth football leagues by providing financial support, tangible benefits and unique experiences to its thousands of youth participants. The Bowl's Youth Football Program is our way to reach out to our region's youth, teaching them powers of commitment, team work and determination...and we are turning dreams into reality.

YFP, launched in 2003, has been going strong for the past six years and continues to make an impact on every community involved. The outreach program has brought the spirit of the sport and the Bowl game to families of more than 23,000 players, cheerleaders and coaches in the 20 member leagues which are located throughout Middle Tennessee.

More than $28,000 has been donated this year by the Bowl to the program's member leagues. Each league chooses how to use the funds - to buy or repair equipment, maintain their facilities, pay for game officials or implement new league programs.

More than 23,000 players, cheerleaders and coaches will receive an official Bowl Patch to wear on their jerseys and uniforms throughout the 2009 season. Youth participants wearing the Patch - also worn by the collegiate players in the Bowl game - receive special privileges the day of the Bowl which includes our Champs Ceremony.

As a part of the program, players, cheerleaders and coaches on member leagues' age -division championship teams receive FREE tickets to the Bowl game. Just before kickoff, more than 75 championship teams will be recognized for their hard work and accomplishments in the Champions Ceremony on LP Field in front of tens of thousands of football fans. After their recognition, each champion will have a FREE seat in the stands to watch the action of the game's competitive ACC / SEC match-up. In total, more than 5,000 players, cheerleaders, coaches and family members will be in attendance at the game in conjunction with the Bowl's Youth Football Program.

They say winning isn't everything, but for the participants of the Bowl's YFP, victory is sweet. When you motivate young athletes with FREE Bowl tickets, 20 minutes of fame and the experience of a lifetime, the stakes are high and the competition is fierce. That is what football is all about!

Nashville's Holiday Tradition will continue to work hard to positively impact the region's youth and the community for years to come. For more information about the Bowl's Youth Football Program please call the Bowl office at  615-743-3130.
