Jay oversees the events department for both the Nashville Sports Council and Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.

The Shelbyville, Tennessee native is a graduate of MTSU with a BS in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. His sports career began in 1988 with the Huntsville Stars Baseball Club. Additional stops have included ticket manager with Boston Red Sox Spring Training (Ft. Myers, FL.), Assistant General Manager of the Jacksonville Suns Baseball Club and General Manager of the Clarksville Coyotes Baseball Club.

Jay’s years with the Sports Council and Bowl began in 1997 as the Music City Bowl’s Event Director. Later as an Associate Director, he was given the opportunity to oversee both event departments and in 2007, he was named Vice President of Events. In addition to his Sports Council and Bowl duties, he has served as the Football Bowl Association meetings coordinator.

The Sports Council events department has secured and managed a variety of different events that include: Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl (annual), SEC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, NCAA Men’s 1st and 2nd Round Basketball Tournament, Pepsi Celebration of Champions presented by Kroger (annual), Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon (annual), Music City Hits Softball Tournament (annual), AAU Girls Basketball Tournaments, AAU Ironman World Wrestling Championships, USA Gymnastics Championships, University of Tennessee vs. Wyoming football game, University of Tennessee vs. Murray State Men’s Basketball, University of Louisville vs. MTSU football game, University of Tennessee vs. Oklahoma State Men’s Basketball game.

Future events include 2011 & 2013 University of Kentucky vs. Western Kentucky University Football Game, 2012 SEC Women’s Basketball Championships, 2012 NCAA Men’s 2nd & 3rd Round Basketball Tournament, SEC Men’s Basketball Championships and the 2014 NCAA Women’s Final Four.

Jay is an official card carrying member of Red Sox Nation as well as a die hard Tennessee Titans and University of Kentucky basketball fan. He and his wife Victoria live in Franklin with their dog, Fenway.
