FRANKLIN AMERICAN MORTGAGE MUSIC CITY BOWL EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH SEC
NASHVILLE, Tenn., (March 12, 2010) – Representatives of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl have announced its partnership with the Southeastern Conference (SEC) has been extended through the 2013 college football season.
“We are delighted to announce a four-year extension with the SEC,” said Christine Karbowiak, Bowl Chair. “Nashville has been a great destination for SEC teams and fans and we look forward to continuing to provide them with an incredible Bowl experience right here in Music City. In addition, the support that we have through Franklin American Mortgage Company, Gaylord Hotels, the Nashville Event and Marketing Fund and a long roster of loyal corporate sponsors really positions the Bowl well through 2013.”
The Bowl has been affiliated with the SEC since the event’s inception in 1998. SEC teams won three of the four conference matchups under the previous Bowl contract with the ACC (2006-2009). The Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl will select sixth after the BCS selection for years 2010-2013. The Bowl will continue to be broadcast on ESPN through 2014.

The Bowl gives our institutions an opportunity to play in an outstanding stadium and enjoy a world-class tourist destination that is centrally located in the SEC footprint.”
