Day 1 (December 28) of BOWL Week is officially in the books! The week officially kicked off onboard the General Jackson Showboat where participants were treated to a show by Comedian/Magician Scott Cantrell and a rib-eating competition between the two teams as the boat sailed down the Cumberland River. NC State took home to Boss Hog trophy (pictured above) by putting away 72 ribs in 2 minutes. The Wolfpack were led by freshman defensive end Rogers Clark who individually put away 21 ribs and took home the coveted belt. Clark was spotted in downtown Nashville sporting the belt for the remainder of the night. The General Jackson Showboat docked at riverfront in downtown Nashville where the players unloaded and other guests were treated to an after party at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Day 2 (December 29) kicked off with the Joint Coaches Press Conference and the Wives & Daughters Tour. The night concluded with the invitation-only Suntrust VIP Dinner and the Player's Party at Dave & Buster's. Both the NC State Wolfpack and the Vanderbilt Commodores enjoyed refreshments, games, and good times.
Day 3 (December 30) is the busiest day of BOWL Week: things got started in the morning at the Franklin American Mortgage Coaches Brunch at 9 AM, followed by the Tennessee Titans versus Jacksonville Jaguars at LP Field at noon. The Kid's Event was held in the afternoon with our biggest general public event (aside from the game, of course) MusicFest & Battle of the Bands at 1st & Broadway at 5 PM. Diamond Rio kicked off the night with a short concert to get the crowd hyped up. After that both NC State and Vanderbilt's marching bands met in the middle of lower Broadway and battled it out. The MusicFest & Battle of the Bands is a FREE event open to the general public.
Then, on to game day. For a full list of BOWL Week events, please view our Fan Guide.
A limited number of upper level tickets are still available through Ticketmaster and will be available at the Box Office on the morning of the game beginning at 8 AM. Kickoff is officially set for 11:00 AM on December 31.Current weather projections are showing a high of 48 on game day with cloudy skies and a light wind. Should be a great day to Kickoff New Year's Eve at the 15th Annual Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.
