Brandt & Mandy Snedeker to Assist Flood Victims
4th Annual Franklin American Mortgage Charity Cup hosted by Brandt Snedeker set to establish charitable foundation
Sea Island, GA — Nashville's Brandt Snedeker along with his wife Mandy and friend Lucas Glover will join efforts with the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl this fall to raise money and awareness for the continued problems facing flood victims in the Nashville area.
In a unique format, the 4th Annual Franklin American Mortgage Charity Cup hosted by Brandt Snedeker will feature a four-ball Ryder Cup/Presidents Cup style competition between teams composed of alumni, administrators and celebrities from ACC and SEC schools. Snedeker, a Vanderbilt graduate, will captain the SEC team and Glover, a Clemson graduate, will captain the ACC team.
The event is scheduled for October 17 and 18 at The Golf Club of Tennessee near Nashville, TN. This marks the fourth year of the event which has raised more than $150,000 for local charities since its inception.
"My wife Mandy and I really wanted to find a way to help our community which is still struggling today," said Snedeker, who grew up in Nashville. "We are committed to make this a special golf tournament that will create a positive result for those who are still struggling from this awful flood."
In May, a storm caused the Cumberland River to flood Nashville and the surrounding area. As a result, there were multiple deaths and over 1,000 homes destroyed. Today, many people are still homeless and businesses are struggling to recover.
"On behalf of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, we are excited to team with Mandy and Brandt as they seek to assist Middle Tennesseans impacted by the flood," said Scott Ramsey, president and CEO, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl. "Thanks to the continued support of the Franklin American Mortgage Company, we look forward to the ongoing support and participation from our friends at the ACC and SEC as we work to raise awareness and funds for such a worthy cause."

The Annual Franklin American Mortgage Charity Cup was established to serve as a fundraiser for the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl designated charities. The Franklin American Mortgage Charity Cup has donated more than $150,000 since its inception 2007.
The 3rd annual invitation-only event was held September 27-28, 2009 at Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and the exclusive Golf Club of Tennessee where the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) squared off against the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in a Ryder Cup style golf tournament.
The unique two day event featured conference administrators, influential donors and celebrity alums from the ACC and SEC member institutions.
On the first night participants checked in at registration and were treated to a welcome dinner and reception. At the dinner, Matt Nicholson of the First Tee of Nashville shared a compelling message about his positive experience as a beneficiary of the First Tee Program. Following his speech, the crowd was treated to live entertainment by comedian Henry Cho, who has also appeared on The Tonight Show and in several movies.
Not only did the Tennessee native have the entire room laughing, but he also competed in the Charity Cup the following day. He was joined by 83 participants who dueled on the golf course before being treated to a spectacular lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse. In the end, Team ACC prevailed over Team SEC, 44.5 - 39.5, serving as a tiebreaker to the first two years where each team won one tournament.
A special thanks to Dan Crockett and Franklin American Mortgage Company for their lead sponsorship. The Music City Bowl staff would also like to thank Bridgestone Americas, Inc., and Bridgestone Golf, which provided a golf simulation for participants at the reception. Thanks also goes out to Gaylord Hotels, Outback Steakhouse and The Golf Club of Tennessee.
