National Signing Day

With just over 200 days until the kickoff of the 2015 college football season, football-hungry fans across the nation tuned into National Signing Day. National Signing Day showcases the celebration of universities across the country and the arrival of new prospects to these institutions. Recruits bring excitement to football programs looking for their next standout star and the hopes of assembling the next National Championship team.

Between our three conference partners (The SEC, ACC, and Big Ten), the Bowl is affiliated with 43 universities across the country, many of which ranked among the top 25 signing classes this year.  According to ESPN, 20 of the top 25 classes this year have ties to our Bow.. Including the Bowl’s defending Champion Notre Dame who ranked at #13. LSU who also competed in the 2014 Bowl game ranked above Notre Dame at #10. Last year’s participants, Notre Dame and LSU, did quite well for themselves, pulling in the 13th and 10th ranked classes, respectively.

According to Rivals.Com, 11 of the top 25 signing classes were SEC affiliated schools. This is the most of any conference in the country. Since the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl will always have a SEC team represented in our game, we are guaranteed to have some of the top talent in the country putting their talents on display in Nashville  each and every year.

The Bowl’s affiliated universities also dominated in securing the top 25 recruits in the country, according to ESPN top 300. Out of the top 25 recruits, 21 of them committed to a Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl affiliated institution. This included top ranked Byron Cowart who committed to Auburn University and second ranked Terry Beckner Jr. who committed to Missouri.
