With the two longest touchdown runs in Mississippi State’s bowl history, senior Vick Ballard led the Bulldogs to a 23-17 victory over Wake Forest. Vick Ballard, The game’s MVP, ran for a career-high 180 yards. The Demon Deacons tallied first after converting on a first quarter fumble by Ballard, however, the Bulldogs rebutted with 16 unanswered points. Wake Forest sophomore quarterback Tanner Price and the Demon Deacon offense were unable to rally and overcome the deficit, despite possessing the ball for over 35 minutes. The victory was Mississippi State’s fifth straight bowl victory and second consecutive under Coach Dan Mullen.
