Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl Presented by Bridgestone

The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl Presented By Bridgestone is a college bowl game featuring two of the best football conferences in America, the SEC and BIG TEN. Played in the Coliseum (downtown Nashville) and broadcast live to millions of viewers on ESPN, the Bowl is Nashville's Holiday Tradition.

Internship Programs Job Descriptions


Salary: Non-paid

Term of Internship: TBD – Flexible

Work Days & Times: Full-time preferred

Skills: Strong communication (verbal/written) and organizational skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office ’97, 2000 and/or XP, must be team oriented, have a solid work ethic, and have the ability and willingness to adapt to project changes.


Events and Programs Intern – This internship is geared towards the individual with an interest in event management. This position reports directly to the Events Managers, the Associate Director – Events, and ultimately to the Associate Executive Director.
  • Assist with overall planning of all Sports Council events.
  • Assist with the management of the Sports Council hospitality, marketing, and sales plans.
  • Assist with Sports Council special events.
  • Assist in implementation of event day execution and management.
  • Assist with the management of the Sports Council volunteer program.
  • Assist with data management for participants and attendees of Sports Council events.
  • Assist with general administrative duties.


Marketing Intern – This internship is geared towards the individual with an interest in sports marketing, corporate development, membership programs, and event marketing and communication. The Sports Council has an active membership of roughly 600 individual members and 130 corporate members. It is the purpose of the marketing department to create and implement marketing programs to enhance the Sports Council and Music City Bowl brand, secure necessary funding through strategic event partners and corporate sponsors and to retain and increase both corporate and individual membership. The position reports directly to the Marketing Manager, the Associate Director – Marketing, and ultimately to the Associate Executive Director.
  • Assist with data management for participants and attendees of Sports Council events.
  • Assist the marketing department in all areas of the Sports Council and Music City Bowl, Inc. marketing initiatives
  • Assist with areas of event sponsorship and membership fulfillment
  • Assist with maintaining databases and customer relationship management for Sports Council membership & event sponsorship as needed
  • Assist in the creation of Sports Council communication vehicles/collateral
  • Assist with media relations/media operations as available
  • Responsible for updating and coordinating content enhancements for company websites: NashvilleSports.com/MusicCityBowl.com
  • Assist with Sports Council membership activities such as the Comcast Sports Speaker Series (i.e. Annual Titans Kickoff Luncheon and Predators Faceoff Luncheon, etc.)
  • Assist with all Sports Council and Music City Bowl special events as needed
  • Assist with various marketing research projects
  • Assist with general administrative duties


Bowl Intern – This internship is geared towards the individual with an interest in event management, event marketing and sales. This position reports directly to the Events Manager, The Associate Director – Sales & Marketing, and ultimately to the Associate Executive Director.
  • Assist with the Bowl volunteer program.
  • Assist with website maintenance for the Bowl’s Youth Football League program.
  • Assist with Bowl marketing activities.
  • Assist in implementation of game day execution and management.
  • Assist with general administrative duties.
